Gulliermo Tuñon did the color correction for And Then I Woke Up from writer-director Christopher J. Aran with important creative contributions not only to the color palette of the finished film, but in salvaging footage that was otherwise unusable…
Originally from Spain, Guillermo moved to the United States to work in the entertainment industry, with an intimate knowledge of computing and an obsession with cinema that has led him down the path to becoming one of the New York’s top digital imaging technicians.
Work on And Then I Woke Up
Gulliermo’s contributions far exceeded the role of color correction which usually involves matching colors and transitions from one scene or piece of footage to another to create visual continuity.
But because of the speed of production, much of which was outdoors in an uncontrolled lighting environment, some shots had visual imperfections or artifacts. That might have been critical in compromising entire scenes that were important to the film, not just in its visual appearance, but in telling the actual story of And Then I Woke Up.
In other instances, he was able to increase exposure after the fact for low lighting footage with the same affect.
Gulliermo met all these challenges tirelessly, with enthusiasm and, as usual, made himself absolutely indispensable to the finished production.
